
John T.D. Caleb is an Indian arachnologist whose research mainly focuses on the spider diversity, taxonomy and DNA barcoding. He has described over 70 new spider species across India and has over 115 research papers on an extensive range of taxonomic revisions on spiders from the Indian subcontinent. His passion towards the systematics and biogeography of salticids got him the “Herbert Levi Fund for Arachnological Research” in 2017 by the American Arachnological Society for studying the Salticids of India.

Pradeep M. Sankaran is an Indian arachnologist with special interest in studying ground spiders and has extensive field experience in the Western Ghats. He has made significant contributions to the understanding of spider diversity from the Indian subcontinent. His research interests also extend over to millipedes. He has described about 45 new spider species and has over seventy research papers on the taxonomy of spiders and millipedes revising the taxonomic status of several species of the Indian fauna. He is currently associated with the Division of Arachnology, Sacred Heart College, Kerala.
